Fuck, fuck, motherfucker. So, I was really unhappy about not having internet up at my house yet, and that it's not up yet partly because shit went down yesterday that was really upsetting. But I was consoling myself with the fact that I'd have tv up there today. NOT SO.
DirecTV guy came out to install shit today, and it turns out the contractor was given *wrong information* about whether or not we could run line from the dish on the main house up to my house. We were told (by another DirecTV guy who needs to get fired or something) that as long as it was an RG-11 wire they could trench it up and it would be fine. So they did. Neither the wire itself or the trenching was cheap. Guess what? There's no way it will work. My house needs a separate dish with a concrete and pole installation (because putting it on the roof with the lightning strikes we get means it would get hit regularly). I have no idea when they'll be able to come back out and do that. So, absofuckinglutely useless waste of both time and money with the trench and the special line, and I won't have tv until god knows when.
I am so sick of this. I actually love my house. I really want to be able to be in there and be comfortable and set up. Instead this whole last week has been a clusterfuck of both technical and emotional overload over shit. I am so done.
Oh, also...the super special radiant in floor heating that I was told would be amazing doesn't appear to be working properly and my hot water...well, I took a shower last night with it alllll the way on hot (no cold at all) and it was...warm. So there's probably something going on with the solar panel hookups too.

Check the settings on your water heater; I know the thing nowadays is to set them ridiculously low so some nebulous child who might get access to the faucet won't burn themselves, but it makes taking showers a thing of misery unless one figures this out and turns the temp up.
